Gérard Albert

1932-2019

Gérard Albert

Gérard Albert (Gerry) aged 86 from Campbellton, NB has passed away following multiple health issues at the Campbellton Regional Hospital at 8:30pm Feb 25, 2019. He was married to Corinne (born Lepage) Albert who predeceased him on Feb 5, 2016. His parents were Jacques (James) and Josephine (born Haché) Albert of Val D’Amour (Lily Lake) who predeceased him.

He had worked as an orderly most of his life after some time in the army which had brought them to Quebec, however his heart was in the Maritimes and he came back near his family with one of his own. Enjoying country music and also playing guitar, he entertained some folks in the area and succeeded in producing a CD which could have secured him a spot on a talent show such as The Voice or Lily Lake’s got talent, programs that didn’t exist back then and the last one probably never will.

Although he had heart surgery, he kept his heart for his family which he wished had been closer as he loved to have visitors. He had a knack for telling jokes which oftentimes would catch you by surprise. I suppose he knew how to break the ice (sorry for the pun in February) while making conversation as when you start by laughing at the beginning only God really knew where the talk would go. He supported some organizations of which the Soup kitchen which he felt was the most important.

He is survived by all of his children; Claude of Fredericton, NB, Claudette (Cliff Spencer) of Moncton, NB, Gisèle (Ronald Robichaud) of Richibucto, NB and Marcel (Carolyn) of Lloydminster, AB.; Grandchildren: Rachelle (Jeff Legrow) of Pleasant Hill, California, Eric Albert of Quimper, France, Sylvie Robichaud of Bathurst, NB, Denis Robichaud of Richibucto, NB, Katrina Albert of Lloydminster, AB, Alex Albert of Vancouver, BC and Rebecca Parkhurst of Lloydminster, BC; Great grandchildren: Sofia, Claire, Simon, Lucas, Victor, James, Annabelle, Danika, Kamia, Brin and Kohen; His brother Lionel Albert of Lily Lake, NB and sister Jeanne (Maurice Bujold) of Campbellton. He was predeceased by many brothers and sisters.

Gerry requested there would be no service following his passing and his wishes have been respected.

An obituary is work of heart and I hope I sincerely conveyed how Gérard Albert was loved and appreciated during his lifetime as all of his family will dearly miss him.
