Patricia McGorlick

1935-2018

Patricia McGorlick

On Wednesday, June 13th, 2018, Patricia Joan (Foran) McGorlick passed away peacefully at the Campbellton Regional Hospital at the age of 82. She is survived by her daughter, Johanna Patricia Phillips, her granddaughter, Kaeleigh Irene Phillips, and her great granddaughter, Aurora Joan Phillips. She was the daughter of the late Martin and Irene Foran, and predeceased by sisters, Irene Edwards, Peg Biagi, and brothers, Bill Foran, Jack Foran and Martin Jr. Foran. She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Dave & Sharon Foran, sisters-in-law Carmel Foran, Frances Foran, and Nancy Theriault, and many nieces and nephews.

Patricia (known to many as Pat) was an artist, a teacher, an adventurer, an intellectual, a dedicated Roman Catholic, and a fierce, independent woman. She was an avid naturalist and loved animals, especially her dog Zoe. Pat visited over 50 countries in her lifetime and obtained her art degree from Mount Allison University in 1958, and an Education Degree from UNB.

She became a high school art teacher and returned to Dalhousie to teach at Dalhousie Regional High School. In her later years, Pat enjoyed painting and walking along the beach with her dog Zoe near her art studio called The Hollow. Pat’s laugh, her unique perspective on life, and passion for intellectual debate will be greatly missed by her friends and family.

As per her wishes, there will be no funeral, but a private service at a later date. The family would like to thank the staff at Foyer Emma and Campbellton Regional Hospital for their excellent care and attention.
